Can This Be True?   Dr. Schodowski graduated from Dental School over 20 years ago and at that time the average yearly dental insurance benefit was $1,000.00.  Today the average dental insurance benefit has remained about the same although the cost of providing dental care has increased.  Most insurance companies pay 100% for 2 cleanings a year simply because they know that preventive care saves them money.  They are in the insurance business, not dental health care.  They know they will pay out less money in benefits if they pay for 2 cleanings a year because people who have regular dental check-ups statistically need fewer dental services.  Regular check-ups and cleanings will save you money too because prevention results in a healthier mouth with less dental disease.  The solution is preventive care and regular check-ups including a complete treatment plan to fix any problems before they become more costly.
